For Families

What it’s actually like to search with us.

No portals. No blast emails to a hundred candidates. Just a process built around your family, from day one.

“You’re not simply hiring someone to watch your children. You’re entrusting another person with your greatest treasures.” (from our founder’s story)

I.

A private consultation

We start with an unhurried conversation about your household: your children or family members, your routines, your non-negotiables, and what has or hasn’t worked before. There’s no cost, and no obligation, to talk.

II.

A search built around you

We personally identify and screen candidates against the specifics of your household, not a generic job posting. Every candidate we bring to you has been vetted for experience, professionalism, and fit.

III.

Curated introductions

We share complete, honest profiles so you can make an informed decision, and we’re candid when someone isn’t the right fit, rather than presenting anyone just to fill the search.

IV.

Interviews, on your terms

Phone, video, in person, or a working trial, whatever helps you feel confident. We’ll help you prepare the right questions and stay available throughout.

V.

An offer, made directly

When you’ve found the right person, your family extends the offer directly: you set the compensation, schedule, and terms of employment, with our guidance if you’d like it.

VI.

Support that continues

We check in after placement, remain reachable for questions, and are here to help again if your needs ever change.

Common Questions

Honest answers, before you ask

Is my household professional employed by Cornerstone?

No. Cornerstone is a placement and referral agency. Once hired, your household professional is employed by your family, and your family is responsible for hiring decisions, pay, schedule, and supervision. We’re upfront about this because it matters for how you plan payroll and taxes.

Do you run background checks?

We screen every candidate we personally represent. Formal background screening, when used, follows a separate, legally compliant disclosure and authorization process, and we’re transparent with you about exactly what has and hasn’t been verified before you meet anyone.

How long does a search typically take?

It depends on how specific your needs are and what’s available in the market at the time. We’d rather tell you that honestly than promise a timeline we can’t guarantee.

What areas do you currently serve?

Northern Virginia and the outer Maryland suburbs today, with Washington, DC on our roadmap as we complete the required local licensing.

What does this actually cost?

We discuss our fee plainly in our first conversation, before you commit to anything, not buried in fine print or revealed after the fact.

Will our family’s information stay private?

Yes. What you share with us about your household stays confidential. If your family has heightened privacy needs, we’re glad to formalize that in writing before we begin.

Let’s talk about your household.

A short, unhurried conversation is the best next step.
